I recently purchased a cz 455 and the bolt is stiff as a board is there anything I can do to make it any smoother
I always take any new rifle bolt and strip it down for cleaning. I polish the bolt body and firing pin face from 320 grit to 2500 grit, just to smooth things up. I also like to take the “bluing” or “paint” from the area where the bolt meets the action. That usually fixes any stiffness issues I have. Or you can just shoot about 500 rounds through the rifle and dry cycle the bolt while watching a TV show to smooth it out.
